Highlights of key tracks:

The Uncle Bill Club…. True stories are often the best. This story describes the family man that the singer didn’t feel he fit in with. The instrumentation has a down-home hoedown aura with a set of spoons driving the rhythm and a lyrical fiddle call and response to the humorous lyrics.

The Sleeping Gypsy…Interprets the magical painting of Henri Rousseau. Segued with bells, the piece is divided into the waking and dreaming states. The Gypsy and curious lion are brought to life as they are described in the song.
High on the Hog…My daughter in law asked if I would plant peas in the garden this year. Now peas take a lot of care to have much of a harvest and I responded “Well you’re living High on the Hog”. We laughed and she is featured on the accordion.

Album highlights:

These songs have not fit with my previous blues heavy releases, but they are really good songs presented acoustically with little orchestration where needed.
